William Blake: Inspiration and Vision

An introduction to the poet, painter, and mystic, built from Jack Ramey’s readings and Eric Marciano’s camera.
The film presents William Blake (1757–1827), who made illuminated books of poetry he wrote, engraved, watercolored, and printed — image and word together, long before the web.
It describes Blake as an artist who wanted to rid the world of hypocrisy and release people from the “mind-forged manacles” of ignorance, disease, and poverty.
Poet and professor Jack Ramey reads the poems. The page credits his script and Eric Marciano’s camera, direction, and editing. It is aimed at high school and college English or art classes, and at anyone who wants Blake’s art and poetry.
Mind-forged manacles.
